It's a Dove

There's a dove on my windowsill.
It goes coo-coo.
My screen door is closed
but my regular door is opened.
I hear the dove and its beautiful sound.
And now the dove flies away.
She comes back tomorrow--
I put out bread for her
and I watch her every day.
Finally one day
she's gone for a while.
Then suddenly the next morning
I see her nest of eggs.
Now I go outside
and one hatches.
The dove is still there.
I leave bread out for all of them.

Dewdrops

Dewdrops, dewdrops, dewdrops
on my window. Dewdrops falling
from my gutter. Dewdrops on the grass.
Dewdrops on the flowers. Dewdrops on the trees
and the fallen leaves. Dewdrops everywhere.

It rained last night,
and I saw dewdrops on my window.
Dewdrops, dewdrops, dewdrops.
Oh, dewdrops.
When will you stop?

Oh, dewdrops, oh dewdrops, oh dewdrops.
Dewdrops on animals, dewdrops on everything.
I love dewdrops, but I don't want them to be wet.
Dewdrops, dewdrops, dewdrops,
dewdrops, dewdrops, dewdrops.
Oh, dewdrops when will you stop.
Dewdrops, oh, dewdrops.

How Everything Works

Sunlight brightens up the world--
it brightens up the whole universe.
And the moon--
it lets us have night.
The entire universe. The night in the sky.
The moon, white, gives us night.
The animals start falling asleep.
The humans fall asleep.
Even the flowers fall asleep.
Saturn does nothing,
Jupiter does nothing, Pluto
does nothing. The rest of the planets
do nothing either.
And the earth
does A LOT!
It helps us live
and the moon, the sun, the earth,
those are the only planets
that do anything.
